A's Rookie Earns First Career Win, Beats Rangers 3-1

The wait is over for prized prospect Sean Manaea. In the lefty's fourth start of his big league career, he earned his first win in the Oakland A's 3-1 victory over the Texas Rangers Monday night.

Manaea tossed 6 2/3 innings, allowing only four hits and one earned run. He also struck out three, and is now 1-1 in his rookie year with a 7.91 ERA.

Shortstop Marcus Semien led the A's at the plate, hitting his 10th home run this season.

Semien leads all American League shortstops in homers and trails only Colorado's Trevor Story for most at the position in the majors.

The A's are now 17-22 on the season.
