Bengie's Bombs Lead Giants

The Giants pounded the Rockies 8-3 Thursday afternoon thanks to the duo of Bengie Molina and Matt Cain.

Molina hit two homers and knocked in four runs to provide the majority of the offense for the Giants.  Meanwhile, his battery mate, Matt Cain was dominant on the mound.  Cain allowed just one hit over six innings to improve to 3-1 this season.  Unlike years past, Cain has been getting some run support from his teammates this season.  The team staked him to a 5-0 lead by the third inning, and Cain cruised from there.

With the win, the Giants moved one game over .500 this season (14-13), and are firmly in second place in the National League West.  They head to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers for a weekend series beginning Friday night.  That game can be seen on NBC Bay Area at 7pm.
