OAKLAND -- Any hope of the Warriors overtaking the Houston Rockets for the No. 1 overall seed in the postseason faded to improbable Tuesday when it was announced that Stephen Curry will be out at least one more week.
And that Draymond Green will miss at least one game, that being Wednesday night when the Warriors face the Lakers at Oracle Arena.
And that it's possible Klay Thompson will join Curry and Green on the sideline Wednesday night.
After tweaking his right ankle last Thursday, Curry missed two games over the weekend -- both losses on the road -- and despite intense physical therapy will miss at least the next four. The ninth-year point guard will be reevaluated on March 20.
Though it was initially hoped Curry could return as soon as this weekend, it's now apparent he will not be back before the March 23 home game against the Hawks.
Green has been coping with a tender right shoulder since the first month of the season, so it's conceivable the sixth-year forward could miss more games as the Warriors prepare for the playoffs.
Thompson, who sprained his right thumb Sunday in Minnesota, is listed as questionable against Los Angeles.

In addition, forward/center David West, who has missed the last three games, will be out, as will guard Pat McCaw, who has not played since sustaining a fractured left wrist on Feb. 10.
The Warriors are optimistic they'll have Andre Iguodala and Jordan Bell back to face the Lakers. Both are listed as probable, meaning they'll be available barring a setback during shootaround Wednesday morning.
The Warriors are effectively three games behind the Rockets and both teams have 15 games left to play. The Warriors have eight home games and seven road games remaining, while Houston, which owns the tie-breaker, has nine home games and six road games.
