Bochy Tossed, Offense Lost

For the second time in a week manger Bruce Bochy was ejected from a game and for the second game in a row the Giants lost to the Padres 2-1.  Much like Barry Zito before him, Jonathan Sanchez pitched well enough to win, allowing just two runs on two hits in six innings.  The Giants offense however sputtered for the second game in a row, collecting only six hits and one run which happens to be the same exact numbers from the night before.

Aaron Rowand was moved to the top of the order to shake things up a bit and did his part by going 3-for-4 but the rest of his teammates continued to struggle at the plate.  Former Athletics pitcher Chad Gaudin ptched well, going six strong innings and givivng up just one run while striking out three Giants.

Bochy, who was tossed on Friday against the Mets repeated the offense in the bottom of the eighth while arguing a close call at first base.  The manager may just have been attempting to light a fire under his sagging offense by showing his frustration for all to see.

The series resumes on Thursday as San Francsco's ace Tim Lincecum takes the hill against former teammate Kevin Correia.
