Brandon Belt Leaves Giants Game Early With Apparent Leg Injury

Hustling down the line with the Giants trailing 2-0 in the seventh inning against the Mariners on Wednesday, first baseman Brandon Belt came up lame after earning his infield single.

Belt advanced to second base on a Dee Gordon throwing error as the ball went sailing into the dugout. The first baseman walked to second base, but then stopped at the bag and began grabbing his right knee.

Chase d'Arnaud replaced Belt as a pinch runner and scored on a Brandon Crawford double to left field.

Belt needed help getting off the field and limped down the dugout steps and into the clubhouse.

At the time of Belt exiting the game, he was 1-for-3 on the day. Belt is now batting .278 with 14 home runs.

More to come...
