Bryce Harper Odds-on Favorite for 2019 NL MVP Despite Not Signing Yet

Bryce Harper doesn't even have a home team (yet), and he's already the favorite to win the 2019 NL MVP.

The superstar free agent is favored to win his second MVP award this season, according to odds provided from Westgate.

Harper currently has 6/1 odds, right ahead of Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado (7/1), who just signed an eight-year, $260 million contract extension.

Which team Harper signs with, however, could significantly change his odds for the hardware.

The Giants had a second meeting with Harper in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Kerry Crowley of the Mercury News reported. To up the ante, the front office has discussed a 10-year contract for the six-time All-Star, sources told NBC Sports Bay Area

San Francisco speeding up its pace in the Harper race comes soon after the Los Angeles Dodgers re-entered the sweepstakes. Is this a two-horse race between the rivals? It appears so.

The Philadelphia Phillies reportedly feel their chances are "remote" after once being seen as the favorites.

Harper is coming off a season in which he hit .249 after a slow start, but he did mash 34 home runs. As far as history playing in San Francisco or Los Angeles, it hasn't gone well. He has hit just .125 in three games at Oracle Park, and .200 in three contests at Dodger Stadium.

Keep a place open on your trophy case, Bryce, wherever you end up playing this year.
