Buddy Hield Contradicts Ranadive: ‘I'm Not Steph Curry'

Did the Sacramento Kings acquire the next Steph Curry?

According to ESPN, owner Vivek Ranadive believes Buddy Hield has "Steph Curry potential."

As for Hield? He's pumping the breaks on that comparison.

"People said [I was like] Steph Curry in college. Yeah, I guess, but I gotta develop. Steph Curry, he's a different animal. He's in his own world. He does whatever he wants. I can't do the things Steph Curry does right now," Hield told Bleacher Report this week.

Then the rookie put a definitive end to the debate.

"I'm not Steph Curry," Hield said.

So who is Buddy Hield?

"I'm Buddy Fresh. I'm Buddy Love. I'm just me. I'm just Buddy," Hield said.

Acquired in the blockbuster trade that sent All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins to New Orleans, Hield faced Curry and the Warriors three times while with the Pelicans. He avergaed 6.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per contest.

In 60 total games between New Orleans and Sacramento, the rookie is averaging 8.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
