Cable Goes Mum

Raiders coach no longer allowed to say who's hurt.

For the entire month that has been Oakland Raiders 2010 training camp, every single day coach Tom Cable has ended practice just like he does in this Comcast Sportsnet video from Saturday. He would head up to a podium, and -- without anyone asking -- he would list the name of every single injured Raider, describe what the injury is, and guess how long it would be until that Raider could play again.

Those days are over. Presumably, Cable caught hell from somebody important wearing a white jumpsuit.

"We are going to adhere to the in-season injury policy and we’re not going to talk about injuries, or where anyone’s at or what’s going on with them," Cable told the Oakland Tribune yesterday.

But what about running back Michael Bush, whom just yesterday you informed us was having surgery to his thumb?

"We’re not going to talk about those things, any of that,” Cable said.

He meant it. He repeated this three times.

This means we won't find out for sure if Jason Campbell is playing in Thursday night's pre-season game with the Seattle Seahawks until the Raiders actually take the field at 7 p.m. PDT.

Or if you're watching on televison at home, make that 10 p.m. PDT. The game will be tape-delayed.
