Don't poke the sleeping Tigers.
That was Kendall Graveman's job Monday night, and he failed to accomplish the task.
Led by Miguel Cabrera's two home runs, the Tigers pounded Graveman for 10 hits and six earned runs over 4 2/3 innings in Detroit's 7-3 win at Comerica Park.
The loss is the A's third in a row and drops their record to 10-10.
Entering the game hitting .206 with one home run and six RBI, Cabrera went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI Monday night, raising his average to .254. Designated hitter Victor Martinez also connected for a solo home run off Graveman.
The win snaps the Tigers' four-game losing streak and moves them to 9-9.
The A's offense pounded out nine hits, including two apiece from Josh Reddick and Jed Lowrie. Yonder Alonso drove in a run with his second double of the season, while Billy Burns and Mark Canha each drove in a run.
