Things are not good in Giants-land right now.
The team just dropped a series to the Pirates after getting shelled 9-2 on Wednesday while managing to fall out of first place (again) in the National League West.
But it might get worse, as newly-acquired slugger Carlos Beltran might hit the disabled list with a wrist injury that we thought only was limiting him to "day-to-day" status.
"Yeah, probably," Beltran said, when asked if he was questionable for Friday.
And per Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury-News, manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged that the disabled list "could come into play" if Beltran continues to struggle with pain.
On Wednesday, he tried to swing a bat but it hurt him to do so.
Making matters worse? His replacement, Nate Schierholtz, is hurt too.

Schierholtz suffered a hip flexor when crossing the plate Tuesday night.
"I hope it's only a day or two," Schierholtz said. "But I don't know. It doesn't feel good."
Neither does being a Giants fan right now. The good news is that the team is just a half-game back of the Diamondbacks and still only five games back of the Braves in the Wild-Card race.
It's going to be tough to make up ground on anyone without Beltran's power, and right now that trade feels like a fantasy-keeper-league deadline deal gone horribly awry.
Except it's happening in real life which makes it a little worse at the moment.
