49ers' Buckner Appears Doubtful Vs Cardinals With Foot Injury

SANTA CLARA – Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner wore an orthopedic boot on his left foot and did not participate in the 49ers' walk-through practice on Monday.

Buckner, the 49ers' No. 7 overall pick in this year's draft, does not appear likely to be available for Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium. He sustained an injury late in the 49ers' 24-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Linebacker NaVorro Bowman is out for the season after an MRI examination revealed a torn left Achilles tendon, the team announced. Also, cornerback Jimmie Ward will miss his second game with a right quadriceps strain.

Wide receiver Jermey Kerley, the 49ers' leading receiver, was on the practice field with an ankle injury. The 49ers had a light practice, but the team was required to submit an estimation of their participation report as if the team held a full practice.
