Baldwin promises 'demonstration of unity' before Seahawks game

Seahawks star wide receiver Doug Baldwin on Thursday revealed that Seattle will perform a demonstration before their 2016 opener.

"To express a desire to bring people together, our team will honor the country and flag in a pregame demonstration of unity," Baldwin said on Twitter.

Earlier in the week multiple Seahawks players, including Baldwin and linebacker Bobby Wagner, opened up to the fact that the team was having internal discussions about whether or not to follow in Colin Kaepernick's footsteps during the anthem Sunday.

"I have considered it," Baldwin told the Seattle Times on Wednesday. "I want to make sure I get all my ducks in a row before I do so."

Wagner added: "Anything we want to do, it's not going to be individual. It's going to be a team thing. That's what the world needs to see. The world needs to see people coming together versus being individuals."

Baldwin last week sent out a host of Tweets regarding his stance on the anthem.

During the Seahawks' exhibition finale in Oakland last Thursday night, cornerback Jeremy Lane sat for the anthem alone, and confirmed he will continue to do so.

Nate Boyer, a former Seahawk and Green Beret, whom Kaepernick has confided in during this protest, confirmed that the Seahawks will have a "powerful" demonstration befor Sunday's game.
