Report: Former 49ers QB Sentenced in Drunk Driving Case

Troy Smith will reportedly avoid going to jail.

The former 49ers quarterback struck a deal in his drunk driving case, according to TMZ Sports.

Smith was arrested in early April on charges of driving under the influence and marijuana possession.

According to the report, he was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended.

To prevent jail time, Smith will reportedly complete a 3-day driver intervention program.

He completed 50 percent of his passes and threw for 1176 yards and five touchdowns, with four interceptions.
