Short on Guards, Chiefs Promote Former 49ers OL Devey

The Chiefs on Saturday promoted offensive lineman Jordan Devey, according to the NFL's transaction wire. 

The team waived defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches in a corresponding move.

Devey, 28, spent last season with the 49ers. He started nine games in 15 appearances. 

In 2015, Devey allowed 18 quarterback hurries, two QB hits and three sacks, according to Pro Football Focus.

He did not grade positively in any of his starts. 

The 49ers released Devey on May 6, 2016.
