OAKLAND -- Matt Chapman hadn't recorded a hit in his last three games. He hadn't homered in his last eight.
Enter August Wold.
Before Saturday's game, the 8-year-old Make-A-Wish kid predicted that Chapman would hit a home run. In the fifth inning, the A's third baseman delivered, blasting a two-run shot to right-center, one of four Oakland home runs on the night.
"I think he's my good-luck charm," Chapman said after the game. "I'm thankful for him calling it. It had been a little while."

Chapman was one of several A's to spend time with Wold before the game. The youngster got a bat from Chapman as well as a glove from Matt Olson and a Nintendo Switch from Ramón Laureano.
"That was pretty cool," Chapman said. "He told me to hit a homer and he was pretty sure I was gonna hit a homer. We need to keep that kid around, take him on the road with us maybe."
After the A's 5-4 victory over Texas, Wold got to join the team on the field for celebratory high fives and handshakes.

"We should bring him out again tomorrow," A's manager Bob Melvin said.
