After missing two weeks with a left knee infection, third baseman Matt Chapman is back.
The A's activated the top prospect from the 10-day disabled list before Monday's series-opener against the White Sox.
To make room on the roster, Oakland optioned outfielder Matt Olson to Triple-A Nashville.
Chapman was first promoted on June 15, but after just four games, he was placed on the DL. In his brief stint, he went 3-for-14 with three RBI.
In 16 games with the A's this season, Olson is hitting .184, but has four homers and nine RBI.
