A's Right-hander Frankie Montas Suspended 80 Games for PED Violation

The Athletics got some bad news Friday.

Major League Baseball announced that right-hander Frankie Montas has been suspsended80 games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. 

Montas was in the midst of breakout season for the A's. The 26-year-old was 9-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 15 starts.

The A's have been playing better baseball of late, but they now need to find a way forward without their best pitcher.
