With a revolving door trying to close out games, the first-place Nationals reportedly have their eyes on Oakland.
Washington's front office is trying to acquire not one but two relievers enjoying impressive seasons with the A's, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Rosenthal reports the Nationals are looking to add both Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson to their bullpen.
Doolittle is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched this season. He has also recorded three saves.
The lefty has spent his whole six-year career in Oakland.
Madson, in his second season with the A's, owns just a 2.11 ERA in 39 appearances out of the bullpen. The 36-year-old is 1-4 and also has one save this year.
The Nationals' bullpen blew 14 saves in the first half with multiple arms getting a crack late in games.
