Cubs Tee Off on Indians, Force Game 7 in World Series

BOX SCORE

The young Cubs, with their backs against the wall, used home runs from Kris Bryant, Addison Russell and Anthony Rizzo to beat the Indians 9-3 in Game 6 and force one final game for the title.

Bryant started the offensive surge for the Cubs with two outs in the top of the first inning. The NL MVP candidate blasted a hanging curve from Josh Tomlin over 430 feet into the left field bleachers. Chicago went on to score three runs in the first frame.

Two innings later, shortstop Addison Russell unleashed his power for a grand slam to give the Cubs a 7-0 lead.

After the Indians put two on the scoreboard, Anthony Rizzo added insurance runs in the ninth inning as he added to the power party. Rizzo rocketed a two-run show deep over the right field wall for the Cusb ninth run of the game.

Jake Arrieta earned the win for the Cubs, throwing 5 2/3 innings. He recorded nine strikeouts and allowed two runs.
