Giants Call Up Outfielder Mike Yastrzemski, Grandson of Carl Yastrzemski

There's a new Yaz in town.

The Giants called up outfielder Mike Yastrzemski from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. Outfielder Mac Williamson was designated for assignment to make room for Yastrzemski.

MLB Network's Jon Heyman was first to report the news.

Yastrzemski is the grandson of Baseball Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski. This will be the 28-year-old's first taste of the big leagues.

Yastrzemski was batting .316 with 12 home runs and a 1.090 OPS for the River Cats in 40 games this season.
