Giants Pitching Prospect Stratton to Start Fall Stars Game

Giants prospect Chris Stratton will toe the rubber Saturday in the Arizona Fall League's version of an All-Star Game -- the Fall Stars Game -- for the East squad.

Stratton, pitching for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League, along with eight other Giants prospects, is 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA in the AFL. In three starts and 12 innings pitched, Stratton has recorded 11 strikeouts without registering a single walk.

Last season, Stratton spent time between the Sacramento River Cats in Triple-A and also came into seven games in the bigs for the Giants. With the Giants, Stratton was strictly used as a bullpen arm.

Coming out of the 'pen, Stratton went 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in 10 innings pitched.

Down in Triple-A, Stratton was primarily a starter as he came out of the bullpen only once in his 21 games on the hill. Stratton went 12-6 with a 3.87 ERA for the River Cats. He struck out 103 batters to 39 walks in 125.2 innings pitched.

Stratton is the lone Giants prospect participating in the Fall Stars Game.
