Giants Vs. Diamondbacks Lineup: Rookie Shaun Anderson to Try to Halt Skid

Another Giants game, another Giants transaction.

After a thorough beatdown at the hands of the Diamondbacks in the first two games of the series, Farhan Zaidi kept the Giants' line moving Sunday morning ahead of the series finale with the call-up of right-handed pitcher Sam Coonrod from Triple-A Sacramento. Left-hander Andrew Suarez, who was charged with seven earned runs across four innings in Saturday's 10-4 loss to Arizona, was optioned to Triple-A.

Coonrod will slide into a bullpen role, providing a fresh arm San Francisco could surely use at the moment. Suarez' replacement in the starting rotation has yet to be determined, although it could be filled by Dereck Rodriguez when his turn comes back around. Derek Holland will remain in the bullpen.

Right-hander Shaun Anderson (0-0, 3.60 ERA) will take the mound for the Giants in the series finale against the Diamondbacks on Sunday, as the rookie looks to halt San Francisco's current slide. The Giants have prevailed in each of his first two starts, although Anderson is still looking for his first major league win.
