"Yesterday was made for hitting," Mike Krukow explained on KNBR 680 on Tuesday morning. "It was low humidity, it was warm; we're talking foul line to foul line carry, and here we go. And they get two hits, and they get shut out...
"... This is the bottom-out game, this is where they absolutely hit rock bottom. The clubhouse afterwards, you could have heard a pin drop. It was as bad as I've ever seen."

The Giants were 57-33 at the All-Star break, boasting the best record in baseball.
But they are a league-worst 16-31 in the second half, and now trail the Dodgers by four games in the NL West.
"They could have won three of those four games in Chicago," Krukow added. "The intensity for four days was amazing. And yesterday, they came out as flat as a pancake ... I'm going with this is the bottom of the barrel right here. They turn the corner tonight."
Entering Tuesday's games, the Orange and Black lead the Cardinals by 1/2 a game for the top Wild Card spot, and are just 1.5 games ahead of the Mets for the second wild card.
Denard Span is 1-for-24 over his last six games, Brandon Belt is in the midst of an 0-for-18 slump (with nine strikeouts), and Buster Posey has not hit a home run since July 16.
Krukow expects changes to the lineup.
