The Giants continued to upgrade their infield on Wednesday.
Just after the MLB trade deadline passed, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reported that the Reds had traded infielder Scooter Gennett to the Giants.

Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay reported moments later that the Giants will send a player to be named later back to Cincinnati for Gennett.

Gennett, 29, was named to his only All-Star team last season.
