The Giants missed out on Shohei Ohtani and Giancarlo Stanton. Their search for home runs moves on.
San Francisco is reportedly interested in another power-hitting outfielder with their eyes on Milwaukee. And no, it's not Ryan Braun.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Giants have called the Brewers about trade for outfielder Domingo Santana.
#Brewers getting hits on all OFers and drawing significant interest in Santana, including from #SFGiants, sources tell The Athletic. Braun, who can veto any trade, least likely to go. MIL would need meaningful return for Santana. Three years control; 30 HRs, .875 OPS last season.— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) December 8, 2017
#Brewers' Santana is one alternative for #SFGiants if they cannot acquire Stanton. A free agent such as Jay Bruce would be another. Many options in play.— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) December 8, 2017

Santana, 25, hit 30 home runs in 2017 in his breakout season. The big right-handed bat played in 151 games, his first full major league season, and hit .278 with an .875 OPS.
In 2011, Santana was part of the trade that sent Hunter Pence from Astros to the Phillies. Santana was then traded from the Astros to the Brewers at the 2015 trade deadline.
