Report: Giants Sign ex-Padres Reliever to Minor League Deal

While the Giants hope to reel in a big fish this offseason, they reportedly added a reliever on a minor league deal Saturday.

Jose Dominguez, a 26-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic, signed a minor league deal with the Giants according to Baseball America's Matt Eddy.

Dominguez, who was originally signed by the Dodgers in 2007, spent the 2016 season with the Padres. He appeared in 34 games for San Diego and posted a 5.05 ERA in 35.2 innings.

Prior to joining the Padres in December of 2015, Dominguez appeared in 14 games with the Dodgers over the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Following the 2014 season, Dominguez was traded to Tampa Bay. He pitched in four games for the Rays in 2015 and was granted free agency after the season.

Dominguez faced the Giants three times during the 2016 season, but didn't fair too well. San Francisco tagged him for four earned runs in 2.2 innings.
