After only one season as the Miami Marlins' hitting coach, the team will reportedly part ways with Barry Bonds.
The Marlins, in Bonds' first year as a full-time coach in any capacity, did see solid numbers in their offensive production. Miami finished second in the NL, fourth in all of baseball, with a .263 batting average. Their .322 on-base percentage finished eighth in the NL (tied for 12th overall), but power numbers were far from the top under baseball's Home Run King.
Bonds coached the Marlins to a .394 slugging percentage, which put them 12th in the NL and the fourth-worst overall in the game. Miami hit the second least amount of home runs (128) in baseball this season.
The Marlins did score 42 more runs than last year and their team batting average was raised by three points from the 2015 season.
