Source: Giants Trade Starting Pitcher to Texas

The San Francisco Giants left the winter meetings mostly empty-handed, missing out on Shohei Ohtani and Giancarlo Stanton. They made major changes to their coaching staffs at every level of the organization, but the roster that lost 98 games in 2016 was largely intact.

That changed on Friday, as San Francisco reportedly traded Matt Moore to the Texas Rangers in exchange for prospects pending the completion of a physical, a source confirmed to NBC Sports California's Alex Pavlovic. The San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea first reported the deal.

Moore is entering the final year of his contract, but has a club option for $10 million in 2019. He's set to make $9 million in 2018. Moore went 6-15 with a 5.52 ERA, both the worst marks of his career.
