SACRAMENTO -- With all of the excitement following the Sacramento Kings free agent spending spree, there is a reality that is often missed. With each player that joins the roster, another moves on.
Following his signing with the Indiana Pacers, veteran point guard Darren Collison gave a statement on his departure to NBC Sports California.
"Sac fans are truly the best," Collison sent via text message. "I'm humbled to be a part of such a great fanbase. Night in and night out, I gave it my all regardless of what the team was going through. Sacramento will be called home due to the love and support I've received. Thank you."
On Friday afternoon, the 29-year-old guard turned to social media to give one more goodbye to Kings fans in a series of tweets.

Collison joins a growing list of former Kings players from this summer. Arron Afflalo and Anthony Tolliver were waived prior to the draft. Rudy Gay signed a deal earlier this week with the San Antonio Spurs. Both Ben McLemore and Tyreke Evans are now with the Memphis Grizzlies. Langston Galloway signed a three-year deal with the Detroit Pistons and with Sacramento's roster now set at 15, Ty Lawson will not return.
The Kings added four rookies on draft night and are expected to announce the signings of Bogdan Bogdanovic, George Hill, Zach Randolph and Vince Carter over the next few days.
