Gay, McLemore Both Go Down in First Half of Lakers Vs Kings Game

BOX SCORE

SACRAMENTO -- After weeks of good health, the Sacramento Kings took a beating Monday night at Golden 1 Center. Both Rudy Gay and Ben McLemore went down in the first half due to injury, with neither expected to return.

Gay injured his right hip flexor and is doubtful to return. The Kings second-leading scorer had posted seven points and five rebounds in 13 minutes of action before sitting midway through the second quarter.

McLemore finally broke into Dave Joerger’s rotation last week and has started four straight games, but that run may come to an end. The 23-year-old guard took a knee to the leg from Lakers big man Timofey Mozgov during the first quarter and will not return with what the team is calling a left thigh contusion.

McLemore had to be helped off the floor by teammate Omri Casspi and the training staff. The fourth-year guard is averaging 6.4 points and 1.5 rebounds in 16.8 minutes per game.
