In Return to Rupp, Cousins Leads Kings Past Wizards

Back where he excelled during the 2009-10 season, DeMarcus Cousins scored a game-high 22 points in the Kings' 124-119 win over the Wizards in Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday night.

The two-time All-Star added six assists and five rebounds in 26 minutes.

Darren Collison, who will be suspended for the first eight games, also dropped in 22 points. He finished with eight assists in the win.

Willie Cauley-Stein, another Kentucky alum, scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and nabbed four steals.

Skal Labissiere, the latest Wildcat to be drafted by the Kings, drew the start, but went scoreless in 16 minutes of action. He did managed to collect four rebounds.

Coming off the bench, Omri Casspi scored 16 points. Fighting for a roster spot, second-year guard Lamar Patterson poured in 14 points in just 12 minutes of action.

The Wizards had six players finish in double figures, led by 19 points from Andrew Nicholson.

John Wall, who played with Cousins at Kentucky, finished with 11 points in 22 minutes.

The matchup featuring four prominent Kentucky alumni drew 8, 472 fans.
