Reinforcements are on their way. The Sacramento Kings have signed veteran point guard Jordan Farmar for backcourt depth. Farmar, 29, spent training camp with the Kings, but was waived when Sacramento had to reduce their roster to 15 players.
The Kings roster now stands at 16 players. Per NBA policy, Darren Collison was forced to spend the first five games on the active roster while serving his league mandated suspension. After game five, Collison was placed on the league’s suspended list, giving the Kings an additional spot to add Farmar.
Once Collison returns from suspension on Nov. 8, the Kings will have to make a corresponding roster move to get back to the mandatory 15.
Farmar, a 10-year veteran of the league, spent last season in Memphis playing under Dave Joerger. During his career in the NBA he’s posted 7.7 points on .423 shooting from the field and .374 percent from long range.
Terms of the deal are unknown at this time.
