Kings Takeaways: What We Learned in 130-125 Loss to Warriors

BOX SCORE

SACRAMENTO -- The one that slipped away ... again.

The Kings and Warriors have now played two extremely entertaining games this season. Unfortunately for the Kings, they've come out on the short end of both contests.

Sacramento rallied to open the fourth and took a double-digit lead in the quarter, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Champs. Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson all posted monster games to help the Warriors escape with the 130-125 win.

Here are three takeaways as the Kings lost a tough one to drop to 15-13 on the season:

Fourth-quarter run

The Kings came into the fourth trailing 103-97. In the first four minutes of the period, Sacramento hit the Warriors with a 15-2 run to take a 112-105 lead.

Golden State instantly brought Curry and Durant back in the game to steady the ship, but the run got the fans involved and made the final six minutes must-see TV.

The Kings continued to hit shots, but with the game on the line, the Warriors' big three dominated.

Battle at the two

Buddy Hield vs. Thompson was epic. Thompson got it going early, but once Hield heated up, it was game on.

Hield led Sacramento with 27 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field, and 5-of-13 from behind the arc.  He added four rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes of action.

Thompson shot 10-for-27 from the floor to finish with 27 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Fox up for the challenge

De'Aaron Fox is special. The sophomore guard put the Kings on his back for stretches of the game and he hit the Warriors with everything in his arsenal.

To end the second quarter, he crossed up Green, a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year, for an incredible finish.

In the third quarter, he looked like something out of a video game, scoring 12 points to keep the Kings within striking distance.

Fox finished with 25 points, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals, but he didn't have enough in the tank late in the game to put the Kings over the top.
