Report: Kings Plan to Rescind Qualifying Offer to Seth Curry

Seth Curry is free to test the free agent market without any restrictions.

The Kings plan to rescind a qualifying offer, making the younger Curry an unrestricted free agent, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Curry signed a two-year deal with the Kings in the summer of 2015, but the second year was a player option -- an option Curry chose to decline following the conclusion of the 2015-16 season.

Due to the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, the Kings had the option to match an offer sheet given to Curry from another team.

After two seasons with very limited action, Curry saw extensive playing time during the 2015-16 season. In 44 games, he averaged 15.7 minutes, 6.8 points, 1.5 assists and 1.4 rebounds.

In May, Curry spoke with the media about his future.

"I'm curious as to what will happen this summer, I think I've obviously shown that I can help a team win and be consistent player in the NBA," Curry said.

He also addressed whether he'd like to come back to the Kings.

"Absolutely," Curry said in May. "It's a big option. Like I said, I liked my time in Sacramento. I like the community, I like what the organization is trying to do and I think they're going in the right direction. But you never know what's going to happen in free agency."

Since free agency began on Friday morning, the Kings have added guards Arron Afflalo and Garrett Temple, and forward Anthony Tolliver.

The Kings also drafted guard Isaiah Cousins and big men Georgios Papagiannis and Skal Labissiere.

More to come...
