Team USA Beats Czech Republic 88-67, Kings' Harrison Barnes Scores 14

One game in, one win down.

The United States Men's National Basketball Team took down the Czech Republic, 88-67, to open the 2019 FIBA World Cup on Sunday morning in Shanghai, China.

And Kings forward Harrison Barnes did his part in the victory.

Barnes won't grab the spotlight, but he will be a key in Team USA taking home the gold. The 27-year-old Barnes was Team USA's second-leading scorer with 14 points in the win, shooting five-for-eight from the field and making all three of his free throws.

Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell led the way with 16 points.

Barnes might be the most experienced player on Team USA, a squad that's lacking a true superstar in the World Cup. He has plenty of international play under his belt and knows how to get the little things done.

Barnes and the rest of Team USA play their second of three pool games Tuesday when they face Turkey.
