Antonio Brown Has ‘too Much Diva' in Him Right Now, ex-Steelers OC Says

It would appear like wide receiver Antonio Brown has it all in Pittsburgh.

He's on a team that is usually in contention for a playoff spot, he's got a lucrative contract that will pay him more than $26 million over the next two years, and he's got a Hall of Fame quarterback throwing him the ball.

But he's not happy and wants out.

So, what's going on in Pittsburgh?

"From afar, there's too much miscommunication, too much diva," new Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday. "I've heard so many stories. I like Antonio, he plays as hard as anybody on Sunday and he practices hard. He's just gotta make better decisions off the field, be on time, do some of those little things."

Arians, who was just fired as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and hired by Bucs, was the Steelers' offensive coordinator in 2010 and 2011, Brown's first two seasons in the league.

Oddsmakers have pegged the 49ers as the favorites to land Brown if he's traded. According to Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, Brown wants to play for the 49ers "really badly."

Former ESPN analyst John Clayton believes the Raiders would be a better fit for Brown and that head coach Jon Gruden is a "big fan" of Brown.

But are the 49ers or Raiders willing to give up a high draft pick for Brown, who will be 31 when the 2019 seasons starts and has a "diva" tag attached to him?

We'll see if Bay Area GMs John Lynch or Mike Mayock think Brown's talent is worth any such concerns.
