Despite all the outlets saying a deal is done, Jon Gruden refuses to confirm anything.
In the opening moments of ESPN's broadcast of the AFC Wild Card game between the Titans and Chiefs on Saturday, play-by-play announcer Sean McDonough issued a lengthy sendoff to Gruden all but confirming that Gruden was leaving the booth. But Gruden still played it coy.
"It's an emotional and bittersweet day for our Monday Night Football family, as today, we say goodbye to Coach Gruden after nine very distingished years with this Monday Night Football crew. Great legacy on Monday Night Football. Not only have you lived up to it, you've enhanced it with your performance here. But I know you are looking forward to getting back to coaching. We congratulate you as you head back to the sideline with the Raiders," McDonough said.
"Well, thank you. Nothing is official yet, but these Chiefs fans have been on my case since I got here," Gruden said, referring to the hostile crowd at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
A source confirmed to NBC Sports California's Scott Bair on Friday that the Raiders plan to introduce Gruden at a press conference on Tuesday. The deal will reportedly be for 10 years and $100 million, the richest deal in NFL history.
