Injury Report: Raiders CB Amerson Misses Practice With Knee Issue

ALAMEDA – The Raiders came back to sea level with a victory in hand and not much time to enjoy it. A 27-20 victory over the Houston Texans in Mexico City came on Monday night, compacting time to prepare for the Carolina Panthers.

The Raiders lost a day, and have therefore decided to focus on recovery in the early portions of this week. They typically practice in pads on Wednesday, but took them off to be as healthy as possible heading toward Sunday’s big home game.

Outside that, there’s no extra being done after playing at 7,328 feet at Estadio Azteca.

“There’s nothing additional that needs to take place,” Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said. “We’re constantly doing that, monitoring how we’re recovering, how the guys are doing and the workloads that we’re having them go through and all of that. We’re on track. We just need to handle our business, prepare well and go in and fight like heck on Sunday.”

The Raiders took it easier in practice, but only kept two players out.

Cornerback David Amerson was a spectator at Raiders practice, sitting out with a knee injury. He played nearly every snap in Monday’s win. Shilique Calhoun also has a knee injury and was held out.

Middle linebacker Perry Riley was limited with a hamstring injury, one that kept him out for portions of the Texans game.
