NFL Free Agency: Raiders Sign Vontaze Burfict to One-year Contract

Vontaze Burfict is set to reunite with Paul Guenther.

The Raiders signed the former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker to a one-year contract Tuesday.

The deal reportedly is worth $5 million including incentives, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported.

Burfict played under Guenther, the Raiders' current defensive coordinator, from 2014 to 2017. Guenther previously had been incredibly complimentary of his former middle linebacker, whom the Bengals cut Monday.

The 28-year-old has been suspended three times in his seven-year NFL career, missing the first four games of 2018 after violating the league's PED policy. He played seven games in 2018, and finished the season with 33 combined tackles.

The Raiders hosted a handful of linebackers this week, and reportedly hosted Burfict on Tuesday.
