Raiders Place TE Smith on IR, Sign TE Off Practice Squad

ALAMEDA. – The Oakland Raiders have signed TE Ryan O’Malley to the active roster and placed TE Lee Smith on the Reserve/Injured List, the club announced Wednesday.

O’Malley originally signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent on May 10 of this year. After participating in the offseason program and training camp with the team, he was waived on Sept. 3 and signed to the practice squad the next day, where he spent the first four weeks of the regular season.

The 6-foot-6, 258-pounder played four seasons at Penn and totaled 43 receptions for 495 yards and nine touchdowns in 40 games. He was named to the All-Ivy League Second Team as a junior and senior, and ranked fourth on the team with 20 catches for 202 yards and three touchdowns in 2015.

Additionally, the Raiders have signed LB Tyrell Adams and LB Darnell Sankey to the practice squad.
