Raiders Set NFL Record for Most Penalties in Single Game

Thanks to the Raiders, Sunday was a busy day for the officials in Tampa Bay.

Oakland was called for a single-game record 23 penalties against the Buccaneers.

The record-breaker was an illegal block in the back on Seth Roberts late in overtime.

The Raiders' 23 penalties amounted to 200 yards. On the other side, the Buccaneeers were flagged just six times for 64 yards.

Three teams shared the record of 22: The 1998 San Francisco 49ers, the 1944 Brooklyn Tigers and the 1944 Chicago Bears.

Despite the record number of flags, the Raiders managed to excape Tampa with a 30-24 overtime win.
