Raiders to Play 2019 Season at Oracle Park: Report

For their last season in Northern California, the Raiders reportedly are headed to the other side of the Bay Area.

Before moving to Las Vegas in 2020, the Silver and Black will play one final season in the Bay at the recently renamed Oracle Park, NBC Bay Area's Raj Mathai reported Sunday night.

Mathai reported that the NFL is expected to announce the move this week. However, a few hurdles remain.

For one, the Giants and Raiders have not formally agreed to a deal, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic.

The 49ers would also have to waive their territorial rights for the Raiders to play next season in San Francisco. The 49ers have not yet signed off on this, sources told NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco. Also, the NFL would have to approve the move, and that has not occurred, either, according to the sources.

The NFL reportedly conducted a site survey of Oracle Park recently, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters in the lead-up to Super Bowl LIII that the Raiders hoped to remain in the Bay Area for one last season.

The Raiders spent the vast majority of their time in the Bay at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Their lease with the stadium expired after the 2018 season, and the Silver and Black pulled a one-year extension off of the table after the city sued the team and the NFL for antitrust violations.

Scott Bair, Matt Maiocco and Alex Pavlovic contributed to this report.
