After Losing Quick, LA Kings Place Backup Goalie on IR

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Kings goalie Jeff Zatkoff has been placed on injured reserve after hurting his groin during a morning skate.

The Kings recalled goalie Jack Campbell from their AHL affiliate in Ontario on Saturday.

Zatkoff had to be helped off the ice after getting hurt several hours before the Kings' home game against Vancouver.

The veteran backup was the Kings' top goalie in the absence of Jonathan Quick, who injured his groin in the first period of the season opener.

Peter Budaj is likely to start against the Canucks. He was recalled from Ontario after Quick's injury.

Campbell is the Dallas Stars' former first-round pick. He is 2-0 with a shutout in his first two starts for Ontario.
