Sharks Prospects to Compete in Mini Round Robin

The Sharks' top prospects will compete in a three-team round robin tournament in Westminster, CO from September 17-19, the club announced on Friday.

Although a roster was not revealed, many of the organization's top prospects are expected to participate in a pair of games against the Ducks and Avalanche prospects. The Sharks will battle the Avalanche on Sep. 17, and Ducks on Sep. 19. Westminster is located approximately 12 miles from downtown Denver.

Last season the Sharks and Ducks played a pair of rookie games in the Bay Area. The first game at SAP Center marked the emergence of the eventual team rookie of the year, Joonas Donskoi, who was the best player on the ice for both teams in the one game in which he dressed.

Among the Sharks young players that will be pushing for a roster spot with the NHL club this season are former first round picks Timo Meier and Nikolay Goldobin.

The Sharks will open NHL training camp on or around Friday, Sep. 23.
