Sharks Thank Patrick Marleau in Full-page Newspaper Ad

The San Jose Sharks selected Patrick Marleau No. 2 overall in the 1997 NHL Draft and he stuck around for a total of 19 seasons.

After his incredible run, Marleau is on to a new home. The 37-year-old center signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs this offseason, ending his tenure in San Jose.

On Sunday, the Sharks paid their respects to Marleau with a full-page ad in the San Jose Mercury News, writing, "There aren't enough words to describe what you've meant to San Jose."

Over his 19-year career in San Jose, Marleau skated in 1,493 games where he totaled 1,082 points, including 508 goals. In his final season, Marleau played all 82 games and totaled 46 points.

Marleau was named to three NHL All-Star Games with the Sharks.
