An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for former Warriors and Kings center DeMarcus Cousins on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge by the Mobile, Ala. police department.
The Mobile municipal court website lists a third-degree misdemeanor Harassing Communications charge against Cousins, but no other official information was provided.
Audio released by TMZ on Tuesday showed a man alleged to be Cousins threatening his former girlfriend, Christy West, over the phone.
Cousins allegedly was calling West to try to convince her to allow their seven-year-old son to be in attendance for Cousins' wedding to longtime girlfriend Morgan Lang, which took place over the weekend in Atlanta, Ga.
When West refused, the man's voice on the audio recording alleged to be Cousins told her that he would "put a bullet through your f---ing head."
In a statement to USA Today, West confirmed that the arrest warrant had been signed.
The charge is a Class A misdemeanor, which carries a maximum of up to one year in jail.

Cousins just wrapped up his lone season with the Warriors, helping lead the team to an NBA Finals berth before signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason. Cousins tore his ACL while working out in mid-August and is expected to be out for the season.
The big man originally was drafted No. 5 overall by the Kings back in 2010 and was a three-time All-Star in just over six seasons with the club.
