Curry Jokes About Fixing 3-point Shot, ‘you're Making a Story Out of Nothing'

First, let's provide the context:

About two weeks ago -- when Steph Curry was still rehabbing his sprained right ankle and his 3-point shooting for the season was stuck at 38.1 percent -- the two-time MVP said the following to Marcus Thompson of The Athletic:

"Yes, I'm mad about shooting 38 percent. I think about it all the time. I obsess over it. Of course I want to get it right and make every shot. Maybe it's because my shoulders are bulkier. That's the word on the street."

After missing nearly a month, Curry returned to game action last Saturday and made 10 of his 13 3-point attempts vs Memphis.

His new 3-point percentage -- 40.3.

"I obsess over it just because that's something I work on every single day and something that I've prided myself on in my career -- kind of like the low end of where I want to be," Curry told reporters following the win over the Grizzlies. "Shooting 40 percent from 3 ... when you dip below that everybody asks you questions like, 'what's going on?'

"For me, I'm in my own head. Just shoot the same shots you take, keep working on your game, and usually the law of averages will work out in my favor. And hopefully that continues the rest of the season. That's kind of the obsession about that particular number, especially because of how many I shoot per game."

Fast forward to Wednesday night in Dallas.

Curry went 6-for-13 from deep, including the game-winning triple with 3 seconds remaining.

His new 3-point percentage -- 40.6.

Following the victory, The Athletic asked Curry what's working for him right now.

Curry's response:

"I went on a retreat while I was hurting. I had an out-of-body experience. I went to the forest by my house and I just was camping outside in the woods by myself and I just had a moment of reflection, being able to be with God and it fixed my shot.

"Is that the story you want? I can deliver something. But you're making a story out of nothing."
