David West Ought to Fill Some of the Void Left by Mo Speights

Player: David West

Position: Power forward/center

Height/weight: 6-9, 250

Age: 36

Salary: $980K

2015-16 in review: Hunting for a championship ring as he nears the end of an excellent career, West took a minimum deal with the Spurs and performed well as a big man, mostly off the bench. He averaged 7.1 points and 4.0 rebounds, but shot a career-high 54.5 percent from the floor.

2016-17 outlook: Gone are the days of West dropping three or four double-doubles a month. The Warriors will ask nothing more than the Spurs, to be the first big man off the bench and operate within the offense with which he is familiar. West remains dangerous on the pick-and-pop, with a deadly jumper from 15-18 feet, and ought to fill some of the scoring void created by the departure of Marreese Speights.

Floor: He is victimized by injuries that plague older players and struggles to find rhythm

Ceiling: He utilizes savvy and a reliable jumper for 15 good minutes per night.
