Forbes: Warriors Leapfrog Three Teams, Become Third Most Valuable in NBA

The Golden State Warriors are valued $2.6 billion, according to Forbes Magazine, good for 20th in the world.

The Warriors were ranked 29th last year at $1.9 billion. And they were tied for 37th in 2015 at $1.3 billion.

The Joe Lacob-Peter Gruber group purchased the Warriors in 2010 for $450 million.

This year, the Warriors leapfrogged the Bulls, Celtics and Clippers and are now the third most valuable NBA franchise behind only the Knicks and Lakers.

Only two clubs in the Top 51 most valuable sports franchises lost money over the past year, and both call Los Angeles home. The Dodgers lost $20.5 million and the Clippers are estimated to have lost $11.8 million.
