OAKLAND – The Dallas Mavericks came into Oracle Arena Wednesday night and immediately raised the white flag, only to have the Warriors crush them anyway.
The Warriors rolled to a 116-95 victory that, with the exception of a few lackadaisical moments, could have served as reminders to ex-teammates Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut, now with Dallas, of good times past.
The Warriors (6-2) basically put the game out of reach in the first half, when they shot 66.7 percent and held Dallas (2-6) to 29.5 percent. The Warriors shot 58.1 percent, while limiting the shorthanded Mavericks to 39.5 percent.
Barnes scored a team-high 25 points to lead the Mavericks, while Seth Curry, brother of Stephen, scored 10 for Dallas. Bogut was rested and did not play.
STANDOUT PERFORMER:
Thompson in the first quarter appeared to shed the remnants of the slump that nagged him through the first two weeks of the season, scoring 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field.

Thompson’s line: 20 points (8-of-13- from the field, 4-of-7 beyond the arc), four assists and two rebounds. He played 29 minutes and finished plus-19.
TURNING POINT:
This one was decided early. After a Seth Curry 3-pointer pulled Dallas into a 7-7 tie with 9:12 left in the first quarter, the Warriors went on a 19-6 run to take a 26-13 lead on a Green 3-pointer with 3:16 left in the quarter.
The Warriors pushed the lead by 19 (34-15) after one quarter and to 31 (67-36) at the half. The Mavericks rallied in the second half but never got closer than 13 points.
INJURY UPDATE:
Warriors: C Damian Jones (R pectoral surgery recovery) was listed as out. C Anderson Varejao was a healthy inactive.
Mavericks: C Andrew Bogut (rest), G Wesley Matthews (rest) and Jose Juan Barea (rest) were declared out prior to tipoff. G Deron Williams (L calf strain), F Dirk Nowitzki (R Achilles soreness) and G Devin Harris (R big toe sprain) were listed as out.
WHAT’S NEXT:
The Warriors immediately after the game flew to Denver, where on Thursday night they face the Nuggets at Pepsi Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PST.
